Here is a list of books I've had the privilege of reading this year. I did not include all the fanfiction I read for the simple reason of it being impossible to track. Some of these are children's books, so don't be surprised. The length and the target demographic don't really matter to me. You can learn from all of them. The list will be updated periodically up until the end of 2017. Here, in the actual order that I've read them:
1. Asylum by Madeleine Roux
Date read: February 3rd, 2017
An impulse-buy that I made at the beginning of the year in hopes of getting back into reading after my extended reading-slump. While this book did not make it into my top 10 favorites list, it did serve its purpose. It was the start of my journey back into reading.

2. to 7. Harry Potter Books Two Through Seven by J.K.Rowling
Date read: February 6th, 2017 - February 21st, 2017
As you can see, I was really late to the whole Harry Potter train. I was a big fan of the movies but never got around to the books, until now that is. I read them in English, even though being from a none-English-speaking country it would have been far easier to get my hands on a translation copy rather than the original. However, I strongly believe that in order to appreciate the book fully, you need to read it in its original language.
Why did I start with the second one instead of the first one? Well, to be honest, I had read the first one about two years earlier. It was right before my reading slump kicked in full force and I couldn't pick up the rest of the series. I decided that what better time than present to finish this series.
I did not write a review for these books as the thoughts I had were not to be limited by word count. However, I probably annoyed all of my friends by discussing all of my theories with them and fangirling excessively. If you ever would like to ask about my thoughts on these books in person, I am always open to a discussion.
8.The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss
Date read: February 25th, 2017
I swear by Patrick Rothfuss' writing. The Kingkille Chronicles are one of my favorite books, so I jumped onto the opportunities to read more of his work. While this book was beautiful, it was not for me. I failed to fully appreciate it but it was an interesting.
9. to 11. Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children Trilogy by Ransom Riggs
Date read: February 28th, 2017 - March 6th, 2017
Perhaps because I saw the film before I read this series but the first book was my least favorite. Out of the three, the last one was my favorite. Not sure why maybe because of the library - I was instantly sold. Even without the illustrations, the story held its ground.Very nice read.
12. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Date read: March 11th, 2017
Very cute read despite the fact that I found it predictable. I found the main character equal parts likable and infuriating. A very strange mix of emotions. I have yet to read the rest of the series but it was indeed added to my TBR list. I hope their turn will come sometime this year as I happen to be one of the people whose TBR list is longer than many peoples lifespan.
13. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Date read: June 3rd, 2017
This book was beautiful. No other way to put it. However, unfortunately, I failed to fully appreciate it. We all have flaws, mine is the lack of patience. This book has a LOT of description. I need dialogue to keep me interested and that was a rare find. There was one aspect of this book that absolutely amazed me. It had so many perspectives, and the timeline kept jumping back and forth, yet it did not take away from the experience. It still felt like a fluid storyline. I found that really impressive.
14. Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss
Date read: June 14th, 2017
Curiosity read.
15. The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
Date read: June 24th, 2017
This was suggested to me by every BookTuber ever. Or at least it felt that way. I was apprehensive about reading it. A YA book about vampires tends to raise red flags, but surprisingly I really enjoyed it. One thing I normally hate about storytelling is when they rush the romantic subplot. In this book, while it happened really quickly, I still felt like the development was natural and not forced or rushed. Perhaps it was due to the situation they were in. Circumstances play a big role in bonding.
16. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Date read: July 7th, 2017
Hands down one of my favorite books. I thank all the existing forces in the universe that brought me to this book. A rollercoaster of emotions. Great storytelling.

17. The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate

Cute and thought-provoking book.

18. The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
Date Read: July 11th, 2017
Yet another curiosity read.
19. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
Date read: July 23rd, 2017
Crooked Kingdom - a wonderful story about determination, perseverance, loyalty, and wit. A tale showcasing that no matter how many times life gets you down, you can always climb back up. I loved seeing all the characters battling their own demons and how through many struggles they still managed to have tiny victories.
